Die Stellung von Frauen und Männern in der Arbeitswelt wird von einer Vielzahl an Indikatoren beeinflusst. Vor diesem Hintergrund
hat das WIFO in Abstimmung mit dem AMS einen "Gleichstellungsindex Arbeitsmarkt" konzipiert, der 30 Indikatoren aus vier Themenfeldern
– Arbeit, Einkommen, Bildung und Familie – zu einem Index bündelt, um in aggregierter Form die Arbeitsmarktlage von Frauen
und Männern zu skizzieren. Die für die vier Themenfelder berechneten Indikatoren erfassen die Rolle von Frauen und Männern
auf dem Arbeitsmarkt quantitativ, spiegeln ihre Einkommens- und Beschäftigungsperspektiven wider, zeigen die Aus- und Weiterbildungsstruktur
für beide Geschlechter sowie die Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf. 2020 erarbeitete das WIFO eine Aktualisierung der 2015
und 2017 publizierten Ergebnisse.

Gender Equality Index Labour Market. An Analysis of the Gender Ratio in Austria – Update 2020
The position of women and men in the world of work is influenced by a large number of indicators. Against this background,
WIFO, in coordination with the AMS, has designed a "Gender Equality Index Labour Market", which bundles 30 indicators from
four thematic fields – work, income, education and family – into one index to outline the labour market situation of women
and men in an aggregated form. The indicators calculated for the four thematic fields capture the role of women and men on
the labour market quantitatively, reflect their income and employment prospects, show the education and training structure
for both genders as well as the reconciliation of family and work. In 2020, WIFO prepared a second update of the results published
in 2015 and 2017.
