Das Eich- und Vermessungswesen stellt die grundlegende messtechnische Infrastruktur und zuverlässige Geoinformationen bereit.
Es erbringt komplexe Leistungen, die für das Funktionieren einer Volkswirtschaft unerlässlich sind und die von der Öffentlichkeit
umso weniger wahrgenommen werden, je zuverlässiger sie erbracht werden und je reibungsloser die von ihnen unterstützten Prozesse
ablaufen. Der vorliegende Bericht aktualisiert die gleichnamige Studie aus dem Jahr 2021 und untersucht die Funktionen und
Aufgaben sowie den gesellschaftlichen Mehrwert (Public Value) der Leistungen des Eich- und Vermessungswesens. Im Zentrum steht
dabei die institutionalisierte Vertrauensbildung als Grundlage für die Koordination zahlreicher wirtschaftlicher Aktivitäten.

The Economic Impact of Metrology and Geodesy Services
The calibration and surveying sector provides the basic metrological infrastructure and reliable geoinformation. It provides
complex services that are essential for the functioning of an economy and that are less noticed by the public the more reliably
they are provided and the less trouble the processes they support cause. This report updates the study from 2021 and examines
the functions and tasks as well as the public added value of the services provided by the calibration and surveying system.
The focus is on the institutionalised formation of trust as the basis for the co-ordination of numerous economic activities
and transactions.
