Diese Studie widmet sich der volks- und regionalwirtschaftlichen Bedeutung des Thermentourismus in Österreich. Nach (konservativer)
Schätzung ist der Thermentourismus in Österreich im Jahr 2019 direkt, indirekt und induziert für eine Wertschöpfung von rund
1,2 Mrd. € und ein Beschäftigungsausmaß von rund 17.700 Erwerbstätigen (auf Basis von Vollzeitäquivalenten) verantwortlich.
Zudem erbringt der Thermentourismus Sozialversicherungsbeiträge sowie Steuereinahmen für Gemeinden, Bund und Länder von knapp
455 Mio. €.

The Economic Impact of Spa Tourism in Austria
This study is dedicated to the economic and regional importance of thermal spa tourism in Austria. According to a (conservative)
estimate, thermal tourism in Austria is responsible for direct, indirect and induced value added of around 1.2 billion € and
employment of around 17,700 persons (based on full-time equivalents) in 2019. In addition, spa tourism generates social security
contributions and tax revenues for municipalities, the federal government and the provinces of almost 455 million €.
