Ziel dieses Projekts ist eine qualitative und quantitative Analyse der Nutzung der Bildungskarenz und der Bildungsteilzeit
sowie deren Inanspruchnahme und Wirksamkeit im Evaluierungszeitraum 2010 bis 2021. Das Projekt beinhaltet folgende Teile:
(1) Analyse der internationalen Literatur zu den Effekten von Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen sowie eine Diskussion der österreichischen
Förderlandschaft im Bereich der Weiterbildung, (2) Deskriptiver Überblick über die Struktur der Teilnehmenden der Fördermaßnahme
im Zeitverlauf und Erstellung einer Typologie, um die unterschiedlichen Nutzungszusammenhänge der Maßnahme aufzuzeigen, (3)
Analyse der längerfristigen Integrationseffekte der Fördermaßnahme hinsichtlich Beschäftigung, Erwerbsbeteiligung und Erwerbseinkommen
anhand eines Vergleichsgruppenansatzes, (4) Befragung unter Maßnahme-Teilnehmenden seit 2017 zu Förderverlauf, Förderinhalt,
Motivation und subjektiven Einschätzung der Effekte des Förderinstruments, (5) Zusammenführung der Ergebnisse und Diskussion
der Optionen einer Weiterentwicklung der Fördermaßnahme.

Evaluation of Educational Leave and Educational Part-time Leave
The aim of this project is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the use of educational leave and part-time educational
leave as well as the take-up and effectiveness in the evaluation period 2010 to 2021. The project includes the following parts:
(1) analysis of the international literature on the effects of continued education measures as well as a discussion of the
Austrian funding landscape in the field of continued education, (2) descriptive overview of the composition of people taking
educational leave over time, including a typology to show the different usage contexts of the measure, (3) analysis of the
longer-term integration effects of the measure with regard to employment, labour force participation and income using a comparative
group approach, (4) a survey among people who have taken educational leave since 2017, including questions concerning the
content of the programme, motivation and subjective assessment of the effects, (5) consolidation of the results and discussion
of the options for further development of the support measure.
