Katharina Falkner joined WIFO as an economist in the Research Group "Environment, Agriculture and Energy" in 2022. She is
also employed as a research assistant at the Institute for Sustainable Economic Development at the University of Natural Resources
and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU), where she is currently completing her Doctoral studies of Social and Economic Sciences. Her
main research interests lie in (agricultural) climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable development and land use,
and sustainable transition. In her research she mainly uses quantitative approaches and integrated land use modelling. She
has worked on several national research projects (ACRP, ÖAW, StartClim). Katharina Falkner holds a master's degree in Agricultural
and Food Economics (study focus: agricultural and food policy; regional development and rural sociology) from BOKU Vienna.
During her studies at BOKU Vienna she spent a research stay at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
