Equal Opportunities

The Austrian Institute of Economic Research is committed to promoting equal opportunities for all persons at WIFO, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability. This includes, for example, ensuring recruitment and development opportunities in line with qualifications, eliminating existing disadvantages and ensuring respectful treatment of each other. WIFO actively promotes gender parity at the institute and diversity in the workforce in all respects.

Women are under-represented among WIFO's researchers. The Management Board has set itself the goal of reversing this trend, for example by taking measures to increase the proportion of women among economists (especially by attracting female applicants) and in coordination and management functions.

WIFO's Management Board and the entire staff are supported by the Equal Opportunities Team. The Equal Opportunities Team is the contact point for all employees for questions and issues related to the implementation of equal opportunities at WIFO. It is responsible for WIFO's annual Equal Opportunities Report and for proposing measures to improve equal opportunities and is also involved in updating the Equal Opportunities Plan.
